Wolverhampton
7 months fixed term contract - 40 hours per week
Salary from £22,000
My client is England\'s largest provider of housing and care for older people. A not-for-profit business with a powerful social purpose, my client provides services ranging from help around the home to specialist dementia care to more than 50,000 customers every week. my client operates from more than 1,000 sites across England and employs over 10,000 people.
THE ROLE
Reporting into the Area Care Manager, you will be responsible for the management of a Care Scheme, delivering a professional service of care to older people enhancing their quality of life. This role includes registration as manger of a domiciliary care service. Your responsibilities include:
* To promote effective communication with members of the Care Team, tenants and their families/friends and other professionals involved in the care of tenants
* To ensure that care planning assessments and reviews for individual tenants are carried out effectively and that any changes in care needs of tenants are identified and reported to relevant agencies
* Ensure the National Minimum standards for domiciliary care services, plus all other quality standards and codes of practice are met, and service provided to the tenants is of the highest standard
* Work closely with Social Services and other professionals to enable tenants to achieve their maximum potential
* To manage care complaints in line with procedures
* Attend quarterly reviews with the care purchaser and any other meetings as appropriate
* Work effectively with Finance Team to ensure all appropriate income for the branch is collected accurately and in a timely fashion
* Line manage care staff including managing performance, regular supervisions and recruitment of staff to meet contracted levels of work.
Skills THE PERSON
You will have proven care experience preferably with NVQ4 or RMA qualification, plus experience of working to targets and achieving results in a Customer Focussed environment. Knowledge/application in practice of Health & Safety legislation is essential as is experience of working with and empathising with older people.
You will have a full understanding of the National Minimum Standards for Domiciliary Care and their impact in care and management practice. You must have experience in the management, development and recruitment of staff, including handling conflict, disciplinary action etc plus an awareness of different values/cultures amongst service users and staff.
With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will clearly and confidently provide a sense of direction and leadership to staff, working well as part of a team and independently. You will also need to be computer and technology literate.
